Enable MFA on the platform

Enable MFA on the platform

How do I enable MFA ?

On your platform, you can activate multi-factor authentication (MFA). The aim of MFA is to reinforce access security on the platform and bring your organization into line with cybersecurity best practices. A password alone is not enough to effectively protect accounts, so activating MFA significantly improves your account security.

Warning
Only the Owner and Platform Admins can activate the MFA.
To activate this feature, please follow the steps below:
  1. From the administrator area, click on the “Security” menu, then on the “Enable MFA” button.

  1. There are two ways to activate MFA: using an authentication app (highly recommended) or receiving a code by email.

  1. If you use an authentication application, you'll need to use a dedicated application, such as Google Authenticator, installed on your phone.
When you activate MFA (multi-factor authentication), a QR code will be provided on the platform.
Simply scan it with the application and it will start generating temporary single-use codes.
If you can't scan the QR code, you'll also be offered a 16-character alphanumeric secret key, which you can enter manually in the authentication application.
Once the application is configured, you'll need to enter the generated validation code, then click on the “Validate” button to confirm MFA activation.

  1. You will then be taken to an interface containing recovery codes, accompanied by the following message: "These codes are visible only once. Save them in a safe place. You can regenerate them later as long as you're logged in." You'll need to click on the “Download en. txt” button to save these codes on your device.

Info
The codes and QR codes have been masked on the article for security reasons.
  1. Once MFA (multi-factor authentication) activation has been validated using the authentication application method, the interface will display a blue tick next to the title of the selected method. This confirms that activation has been successful.

  1. If you are using email authentication, click on the “Send code” button.

  1. Next, copy the code you received in your inbox,

  1. Paste it into the field provided, then click on the “Validate” button.

  1. Once MFA (multi-factor authentication) activation has been validated using the email authentication method, the interface will display a blue check mark next to the name of the selected method. This confirms that the activation has been successfully completed.

Notes
Enabling MFA (multi-factor authentication) without prior configuration does not make its use mandatory for platform users. To ensure that MFA is effective, make sure you configure it correctly.
