How to use recursive questions ?
On your platform, you can add recursive questions to your forms. This type of question allows candidates to answer the same set of questions multiple times by clicking on a button that automatically adds a new identical group. This is particularly useful when you want to collect several similar items, such as information about all the members of a team, for example. The special feature of recursive questions is that they are actually a group of questions. To use them correctly, you must add other questions within this group. These integrated questions will be repeated each time the candidate generates a new occurrence.
It is also possible to display a recursive question only under certain conditions.

- In your form, on the right side of your screen, you will see the different types of questions.
- Drag the recursive question icon and drop it into the reserved space.
- You will get this result, where you will need to name the question. In our example, we named it “Team Member.”
- You can enable or disable the “Make mandatory” button on the recursive question, but this has no effect on the questions it contains.
Enabling the “mandatory” option on the recursive question has no effect if the questions inside are not themselves mandatory. Remember to set each question as mandatory individually for them to be taken into account.
- You can customize the title of the Add New Group button. By default, this button displays the text Add New.
- You can also customize the “Confirmation message before deleting a group.” By default, this message displays the text: “Are you sure you want to delete this group of answers ?”
- Define the number of times the user is allowed to repeat this group. The recursive question, being a group of questions, can be repeated one or more times.
If this value is set to -1, the user will be able to repeat it as many times as they wish. By default, this value is set to -1.
- To use the recursive question correctly, you must add other questions inside the group. To do this, drag the icon for the desired question and drop it into the recursive group. In our example, we will add a short text question.
- After configuring the recursive question, save it by clicking the “Save” button at the top right of your screen.
- Click on the computer icon to preview the form in computer mode.
- Click on the phone icon to preview the form in mobile mode.
